MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. -

A car carrier truck caught fire Tuesday morning on Florida's Turnpike.

Sky 10 was above the scene of the fire near the 199th Street exit in the Miami Gardens area.

It wasn't immediately known how the fire started, but Miami-Dade firefighters said the driver safely escaped and no injuries were reported.

Firefighters used a large water hose to put out the flames.

The truck belonged to Hialeah-based Salgado Transportation. A notice on the driver's side door said "Fire Extinguisher Inside."

There were no cars being transported by the truck at the time.
