Children evacuated from Bayview Elementary School because of gas leak

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Students were evacuated from an elementary school in Fort Lauderdale Monday morning because of a gas leak, authorities said.

Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue officials said they were called to Bayview Elementary School at 1175 Middle River Drive because an underground propane tank had a small leak.

Students were evacuated as a precaution until the leak was capped.
