FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. ā€“ The city of Fort Lauderdale and an event company could soon face legal action after an 11-year-old boy and two others were injured in a bounce house accident Monday.

An attorney representing Antonio Dent sent a notice to the two parties a day after a waterspout lifted a bounce house on Fort Lauderdale Beach on Memorial Day.

Antonio Dent and two other children were injured when they were thrown out of a bounce house by a waterspout.

A witness told Local 10 News she was on the beach when she saw the bounce house, supplied by All Star Events, in the air and "little kids start flying out, hitting the ground."

According to the notice sent by the law firm of Cohen and Cohen, Dent suffered an arm injury and sustained "severe and permanent injuries."

Dent and another child were released from the hospital Monday. Shamoya Ferguson, 6, who was the most seriously injured, was released Tuesday.

Fort Lauderdale police Sgt. DeAnna Greenlaw said the bounce house was provided as part of a city-sponsored Memorial Day event and was properly secured.

The notice, sent Tuesday, stated that the city and the event company acted in a negligent manner.

Officials with both parties are expected to respond to the attorney within 30 days or face legal action.
