MIAMI – Three Miami commissioners at Thursday night's meeting voted unanimously and gave the go-ahead for Walmart to build in Midtown Miami.
Walmart supporters, donning white T-shirts, said the giant retailer would bring jobs to the area.
"A new Walmart in Midtown Would not be anything but a good thing for our community," said Miami resident William Desias.
Opponents said more hearings were needed, and that the building requires a more specific permit.
