Construction worker struck in face by tension rod on Miami job site

Man lowered from 9th floor to rescue personnel

MIAMI – A construction worker was injured Thursday when he was hit in the face by a tension rod on a job site in Miami.

Officials said the man was on the ninth floor of the building at 3201 Northeast First Ave. when the tension rod snapped. Since there are not any elevators in the structure, a crane was used to lower the man to fire rescue personnel.
