73-year-old woman tied up, robbed in Dania Beach home

Woman has been robbed 3 times in 17 years

DANIA BEACH, Fla. – Louise Pfister was sitting at her kitchen table at about 8:30 a.m. Saturday when three men stormed into her Dania Beach home, robbed her and left her tied up.

Pfister said she heard a beep from her alarm just before the men came busting through her back door.

"They wanted me to sit over there, and I told them, 'No, I don't sit on that couch. I'll sit here,'" Pfister said.

The bold 73-year-old was home alone when the robbery took place.

She said the men ransacked her home.

"They put a gun to my head," Pfister said. "They were going to shoot the pit bull 'cause she wouldn't shut up."

Pfister told deputies the men were in her home for about 30 minutes and made off with cellphones, an iPad, a wallet with $30 in it and her son's safe.

"Clothes were scattered all over," Pfister's son, Tommy Hicks, said. "They must have thrown it over here 'cause they cracked the window."

Hicks was at work when the robbery took place.

Before the thieves left, they ordered Pfister to her room and tied her up with an electrical cable.

"Well, they didn't tie me tight enough," she said.

Pfister was able to wiggle her arms free, untied herself and then ran to her neighbor's home. The Broward Sheriff's Office was called.

The men who robbed her have not been arrested.

"I hope you're happy with what you've got," Pfister said. "Merry Christmas and happy New Year. It's not nice. How can you do that to an old lady?"

Neighbors said burglaries are common in their neighborhood.

Pfister has lived in her home for about 17 years. It was the third time she has been burglarized. She's now in the process of selling the home.

Anyone who has information about the incident is asked to call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
