MIAMI-DADE, Fla. – There were children at the flea market on Sunday when a masked gunman started shooting. During seconds of chaos, some shoppers started running. Others dropped to the ground.

It was all to steal jewelry from a vendor at the indoor flea market in northwest Miami-Dade County's West Little River neighborhood, according to police.

The gunman and two others with him rushed in and out of the Flea Market USA, 3015 NW 79th St., according to witnesses who talked to Miami-Dade police officers.

Another group of men with the same description were accused of taking jewelry Friday from a vendor at Carol Mart Flea Market, 18200 NW 27th Ave., in Miami Gardens' Carol City neighborhood.

Gun violence in South Florida this weekend left a father of five dead in Broward County and at least four others wounded, including a 12-year-old boy, who was shot in the chest during a robbery in Miami.
