Davie police suspect foul play in tow truck driver's disappearance

Valentino Malloggi last seen Sunday night at truck stop

DAVIE, Fla. – Foul play is suspected in the disappearance of a tow truck driver who didn't return from a job in Davie.

Davie police said Valentino Malloggi was last seen Sunday night at a truck stop at 2705 Burris Road.

Police said Malloggi, 38, told family members that he was leaving to do a job for his tow truck company, but that was the last they heard from him or saw him.

Police said the tow truck was found the next morning at 3501 Burris Road. They said the engine was on and Malloggi's personal belongings were the only items missing.

A GPS tracker didn't indicate that the truck went anywhere other than 3501 Burris Road.

Sgt. Mark Leone said the lead detective believes foul play is suspected.

Teresa Palacios told Local 10 News that her brother is a father to eight children and would have never left them alone.

"He is not the type of person to just disappear," she said.

Palacios said not knowing what happened to her brother is the hardest part.

"It's very strange," she said.

Anyone with information on Malloggi's whereabouts is asked to call Davie police at 954-693-8200.
