Man shot in head during argument at northwest Miami-Dade gas station

Victim dies at hospital

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A man was killed after he was shot in the head early Monday at a northwest Miami-Dade County gas station.

The shooting happened about 3:30 a.m. Monday outside the Exxon gas station near Northwest 12th Avenue and Northwest 79th Street.

Miami-Dade police Detective Daniel Ferrin said three people were involved in a dispute when one of them pulled out a gun and shot the victim in the head.

Ferrin said the shooter fled in a dark-colored vehicle in an unknown direction.

A gray Toyota Corolla in which the victim was riding was surrounded by police tape near a gas pump. Its front passenger door was still open.

The victim was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center, where he was pronounced dead. His identity has not been released.
