Man who robbed couple, woman in Deerfield Beach believed to have struck again

$3,000 reward offered for information leading to arrest

DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. ā€“ A man who recently robbed a couple and woman in Deerfield Beach is believed to have robbed a man Monday in the same neighborhood.

The latest robbery was reported at 7:20 a.m. Monday in the 400 block of Lock Road.

Broward sheriff's deputies said the victim was putting items in his car when he saw the robber walk past him.

Deputies said the robber returned a short time later, this time wearing a bandanna across his face and holding a silver handgun.

Deputies said the robber pointed the gun at the victim and demanded money.

The robber hit the victim over the head with the gun and snatched his wallet, authorities said.

Detectives believe that the same man was involved in the August robberies of a couple and a woman who live on the same street.

Local 10 News spoke to the woman who was robbed on Aug. 22.

She said the robber came into her home while she was taking a shower, ordered her out of the bathroom at gunpoint and ransacked her home.

Deputies said the gunman fired one shot at the woman, which nearly struck her.

She said she ran to a neighbor's apartment, and the neighbor called 911 and got her a towel.

Detectives said a couple who lives in the same complex was robbed two days earlier.

Authorities said the man got away with the victims' car keys and electronics.

"As soon as I went around, he went around the pickup truck. He had the bandanna on. He pulled out the weapon and just asked for my wallet," the victim said. "That's when my dog went to sniff him. I looked down and pulled my dog and that's when he hit me with the weapon."

Anyone with information about the identity of the robber is asked to call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS. A reward of up to $3,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.
