'Sexy woman' picks up victims at Miami Beach nightclubs, police say

Detective says this thief picked up victims at Story, Dream, LIV

MIAMI – In the same way that Liliana Vanegas, 24, lured men to steal their luxury watches, detectives believe Liz Rios flirted her way to financial gain.

Three men told police the "sexy woman" -- who is 5-feet, 7 inches tall and weighs about 130 pounds -- robbed them.

The 21-year-old woman allegedly picked up a victim at Story Nightclub in South Beach and continued to party with him at E11ven Miami in downtown.

Rios went home with him, spent the night and even made breakfast about 2 p.m. the next day, according to the alleged victim.

He said everything was fine until he started to feel drowsy and fell asleep. When he woke up the next day, his Rolex watch and gold necklace were gone.

Another victim told police he met Rios at LIV in Miami Beach. She allegedly told him her name was Sophie and she spent the night at his room at the Fontainebleau Hotel.

When he woke up, he told police Sophie was gone -- and so was his black Louis Vuitton duffel bag and the jewelry that he had left in the safe.

A third victim told police he met Rios at Dream Nightclub on Washington Avenue.

The man told police he took her to his hotel room on Alton Road and after having sex with her on the sofa, they both fell asleep. When he woke up, he said she had taken about $13,500 in valuables.

Police arrested Rios on Wednesday. She faces three counts of grand theft, food poisoning and cocaine and marijuana possession charges. Her criminal record includes two 2014 arrests for cocaine and marijuana possession.
