TAMARAC, Fla. – A South Florida woman was arrested Thursday night after she threatened to kill a 4-month-old boy with a knife, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.
Lorraine Drayton, 33, of Tamarac, was arguing with her ex-boyfriend in the 8000 block of Northwest 96th Terrace when the fight escalated, BSO spokeswoman Veda Coleman-Wright said.

Drayton started biting her ex-boyfriend when he tried to stop her from getting to two children inside the home, Coleman-Wright said. She then grabbed a knife from the kitchen and locked herself inside the bathroom of the master bedroom with the infant, threatening to kill him, Coleman-Wright said.
Deputies were called and tried to coax Drayton out of the bathroom. Unsuccessful, deputies eventually forced their way inside and saw Drayton sitting on the floor, holding the boy and pointing the knife at them, threatening to harm him if they came any closer, Coleman-Wright said.
Once Drayton stood up and turned the knife toward the boy, a deputy fired a shot from his bean-bag shotgun, striking her in the leg, Coleman-Wright said. Another deputy used his Taser to ultimately subdue Drayton and take her into custody, Coleman-Wright said.
Drayton was treated for a minor injury from the bean-bag shot and was booked into the main Broward County jail. She faces charges of child abuse and domestic violence.
