WELLINGTON, Fla. – A teenager accused of fatally shooting a South Florida man told deputies he wanted to rob the victim of his drugs and guns, according to a Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office arrest report.

Yasir Jackson, 19, was arrested Tuesday on a charge of first-degree murder.

Deputies said Jackson shot Joseph Bilella, 34, multiple times early Tuesday inside his Wellington home.

Bilella was taken to St. Mary's Medical Center in West Palm Beach, where he was pronounced dead.

According to the report, a witness to the shooting told deputies that he met the gunman, later identified as Jackson, through a mutual friend three days earlier.

The witness said he introduced Jackson, whom he only knew as "Philly," to Bilella at the victim's home on Periwinkle Place. The witness said Jackson was there to buy drugs from Bilella.

While the three men were inside Bilella's bedroom, Jackson said he needed to use the bathroom and left the room, the witness told deputies. When Jackson returned, he picked up a gun that belonged to Bilella from a table near the door, pulled another gun out of his waistband and pointed them at the other two men, the witness said.

The witness said he got on the ground and overheard Bilella say, "Take everything and leave, but I'm not getting on the ground."

Moments later, Jackson shot Bilella multiple times with the victim's gun and ran out of the home, the witness told deputies.

Deputies later pulled over a Hyundai Accent in which Jackson was a passenger. Deputies said they found a semi-automatic handgun equipped with a tactical flashlight -- the same gun that Bilella owned -- inside the car.

Jackson was arrested after the witness identified him as the gunman, deputies said.

During an interview with detectives, Jackson admitted to shooting Bilella so that he could rob him of his drugs and guns, the report said.

Jackson was being held without bond at the main Palm Beach County jail.
