Victim shoots burglar breaking into vehicle in Miami, authorities say

2 in custody, 1 sought by police

MIAMI – Two people are in custody after a car burglary victim shot at the culprits, authorities said.

Miami police said the incident was reported about 2:45 a.m. Tuesday at 3680 SW 25th Terrace.

Police said the owner of the vehicle saw at least two people breaking into the car and shot at the thieves, shooting one in the chest.

The injured burglar was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center, authorities said.

Detectives said they are still searching for one other person believed to be involved in the crime.
