An arrest report says Donald Lee Hicks was driving a van with a Confederate flag on it when he struck a black couple with his vehicle after they refused to move from a parking spot that they were saving.

DANIA BEACH, Fla. ā€“ A Dania Beach man driving a van with a Confederate flag on it struck a black couple with his vehicle after they refused to move from a parking spot that they were saving, according to a Broward Sheriff's Office report.

Donald Lee Hicks, 38, was arrested Saturday on two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

According to an arrest report, Shackus Davis and Veronica Larkins were standing in a parking spot to save it for a family member when Hicks pulled up in his van and yelled at them to get out of the way.

After they refused, Hicks yelled at them and said, "F--- you, n------, don't you see what's on the front of my truck?"

According to the report, Hicks then struck Davis and Larkins with his van.

Davis and Larkins complained of knee injuries and were treated by paramedics.

Hicks was being held at the main Broward County jail on $40,000 bond.
