FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A Broward County judge has ordered a defendant to spend 364 days in jail after he went off in court, even screaming obscenities at the judge.
Christoper Colon, 27, is being held on $250,000 bond on a charge of contempt of court, and no bond on his existing charges of violating domestic violence-related restraining orders against two women, plus a battery charge.
Colon became angry after he learned his felony charges carried no bond, and that's when he cursed at Judge John Hurley before storming off.
"You can go (expletive) yourself, too," Colon said.
Hurley ordered deputies to bring Colon back to face him, even offering him a chance to apologize.
"Do you have anything you'd like to say in defense?" asked Hurley.
"I'm not apologizing to you," said Colon. "You got me (expletive) up, man. You ain't no (expletive) Hitler, man!"
