SANFORD, Fla. ā€“ A picture of George Zimmerman's defense attorney Don West eating ice cream with two of his daughters went viral in social media Friday.

West's statement: "As a parent, we'reĀ not always proud of things our children do, but we love them anyway, and then we move on."

West was in the courtroom. His daughters were in the second row. During testimony, Molly West got up and walked out. Minutes later, her sister Rachel West followed.

Spokesman Shawn Vincent said sheĀ  volunteered to leave when she found out that her picture went viral. The caption on their post on Instagram:

"We beat stupidity celebration conesĀ  #zimmerman #defense #dadkilledit."

Their dad is defending a man who is facing life in prison if found guilty of second-degree murder in the death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin. But their spokesperson said the family has a good sense of humor. West took the "selfie" after his opening statements' "knock, knock" joke.

"The girls like to make fun of their dad frequently," Vincent said.

On Tuesday, Vincent said, the girls got WestĀ  Dunkin Donuts,Ā and theyĀ wroteĀ on the box "Knock Knock.Ā Who's there?Ā Donut.Ā DonutĀ who?"

West "was doing something he does almost every day,Ā anĀ old tradition with hisĀ daughters," said Vincent. "They went out for ice cream. Don had no idea that she'd post it on Instagram."

Vincent said West did not know anything about the comment on the picture.

Vincent added the defense team understands the context of the comments with what's happened in court this week are grossly insensitive.
