Delisson Orvil wounded after bullets pierce Miami home

Shooting occurs while man, family sleeping

MIAMI – Delisson Orvil is back home and thankful to be alive after he was wounded in the chest when someone shot into his home while he and his family were sleeping early Thursday morning.

Police said the shooting happened shortly after 2 a.m. at Northwest Second Court and 82nd Terrace.

Officers arrived to find the home riddled with more than a dozen bullets that pierced through the walls and shattered windows.

Numerous shell casings were also found at the scene.

Orvil said he and his family heard the gunshots and fell to the floor.

"If I (kept) sitting on the bed, maybe I would (have been) killed right away," he told Local 10.

Orvil was treated at a hospital and later released.
