Deputies seek man who stole woman's purse at Lauderdale Lakes store

Man caught on surveillance video using woman's credit card, says deputies

LAUDERDALE LAKES, Fla. – Deputies are currently searching for a man who stole a purse from a Lauderdale Lakes business, and was later caught on surveillance video using the victim's credit card with two other men.

The incident happened April 13 at 11:42 a.m. at the Universal Mattress Shop located at 3927 Northwest 19th Street.

According to the Broward Sheriff's Office, the unidentified suspect entered the mattress store and removed an employee's purse from her desk drawer.

Authorities said the man then proceeded to run through the store and exit out the back door.

The man managed to get away with jewelry and personal items worth in excess of $4,000, deputies said.

Later that day, deputies said three men were captured on surveillance video purchasing shoes at the Nike Factory store in Sunrise using the woman's credit card.
