Despicablimp creates laughs over S. Fla.

Giant minion-shaped blimp promoting Despicable Me 2

Look! Up in the sky!

It's a bird! It's a plane! It's a... minion???

That giant unidentified flying object that has been hovering over South Florida this week is none other than the Despicablimp; and it's been bringing smiles along with a whole bunch of "What the heck are thats?"

Of course, the blimp is in town to help promote the upcoming 3D comedy, Despicable Me 2 which will be released by Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment on July 3. The movie is the sequel to the original film which grossed over $540 million in 2010.

In the shape of one of the popular and playful minions that assist super-villain Gru (Steve Carrell) in the movie, the Despicablimp is 165-feet long, 55-feet high and 46-feet wide.

On Monday, the blimp made a stop over the Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital in Hollywood to bring a few laughs to the kids that are currently patients.

Currently on a six-month tour, the Despicablimp will journey all across the United States.
