Detectives investigating fatal Saturday night crash in Pembroke Park

The investigation continues

BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. – Broward Sheriff’s Office traffic homicide detectives are investigating a crash that left a pedestrian dead Saturday night in Pembroke Park.

According to a news release from authorities a Chevy work van was traveling east in the center lanes of the 3300 block of Pembroke Road about 7:40 p.m. Saturday when a pedestrian entered the van’s path and was struck. Witnesses told detectives, the van’s driver wasn’t speeding and didn’t have time to stop or avoid hitting Fred Christopher Crosser.

Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue personnel and THI investigators went to the scene. Crosser was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, Clifford Smith, reported no injuries the release stated. 

Detectives suspect Crosser may have been impaired. Their investigation continues.
