2 small dogs rescued from Miami house fire

Firefighters find 2-story house engulfed in flames

MIAMI – Two dogs were rescued from a two-story house fire Sunday evening in Miami.

Miami Department of Fire-Rescue Capt. Ignatius Carroll said firefighters were called to the house in the 100 block of Northwest 70th Street about 8:30 p.m.

When firefighters arrived, they found the second floor engulfed in flames.

Several residents told firefighters that an elderly woman lived inside the house and they had not seen her.

Firefighters searched the house and rescued two small dogs, but they were not able to find the owner.

There were no reported injuries or damage to neighboring homes.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
