MARGATE, Fla. – A driver was trapped in a car after it was struck by a dump truck Monday afternoon in Margate.
The collision was reported about 12:30 p.m. at Rock Island Road and Royal Palm Boulevard.
Margate-Coconut Creek Fire Rescue said a Kia Soul was struck by a dump truck at the intersection.
Firefighters had to extricate the driver of the Kia, who was trapped in the car after the crash. The driver was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
Eastbound traffic on Royal Palm Boulevard was closed at Rock Island Road during the crash investigation.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
