Students hold mock presidential election at Robert Morgan Educational Center

Students learn about both parties' stance on education, immigrantion, economy

MIAMI – Miami-Dade County public schools are preparing for the upcoming November election, and students at the Robert Morgan Educational Center held a mock presidential debate Wednesday to get them in the spirit.

While most students aren't of age to vote, they got the opportunity to learn about both parties stance on education, trade, immigration and the economy.

"I'm not going be able to vote myself, but I think being able to share my opinion and influence others is very important," Joshua Fischer, from the Student Republican panel, said.

The student panels even took questions from their classmates.

"It's, for me, to not only get my voice out to the people who can vote now, but the younger people who will be voting tomorrow," Drae Taylor, from the Student Democrat panel, said.
