The pilot and passenger walked away from the wreck virtually unscathed, police said.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration, an engine-related problem forced the pilot to make the emergency landing.

The pilot told police he and his brother-in-law had just left the airport to go on a ā€œjoyride.ā€
