MIAMI - A deadly shooting led to violence in the streets in Liberty City Monday night.
Shocked family members were rushing to the site of the shooting so fast that police had to restrain them.
Police said the shooting happened after 8 p.m. on northwest 54th Street and 7th Avenue.
A man pulled up to a car wash in his SUV with two small children. Then, just feet away, someone shot and killed him while his kids were watching in the car.
Family and friends said the victim was a well-known Miami rapper whom the community loved. A crowd of nearly a hundred people gathered when they heard the news.
A friend of the victim said it doesn't make sense why someone would kill him.
"He's a good guy. He would help you. I worked for him," said Rod Parker.
When the crowd became emotional, police moved in to prevent the situation from spiraling out of control.
Neither child was hurt.
Police have not yet confirmed the identity of the victim.
Investigators have no description of the gunman who got away.
