MIAMI – A Miami firefighter is in critical condition after the motorcycle he was riding to work collided with a pick-up truck Monday morning, according to police.
The crash happened just after 6 a.m. at the intersection of South Dixie Highway and Southwest 22nd Street.
The firefighter was identified as Hector Seiglie. Miami Fire Rescue says he has been with the department for 22 years and works out of Fire Station #5, a dive team station).
Seiglie was transported to Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition. The driver of the truck was not injured.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
