FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla – A firefighter was sent to the hospital while putting out an apartment fire near Fort Lauderdale.
Broward Sheriff's Office Fire Rescue said the fire broke out about 4 a.m. Friday near Northwest 27th Avenue and 14th Court.

Deputies said the firefighter was transported to the hospital with a shoulder injury.
The BSO is investigating.
