"We wanted to come to a sanctuary today to pray for them and to reach out to the world for those who are still in captivity," she says.

Wilson also stresses the need to encourage global education for all young children.

"Education is not just the key for kids who live in American and Nigeria, but children who live everywhere" she says.

Wilson met with newly elected Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari during his recent visit to Washington, D.C.

On Sunday, she spoke about the continued efforts she expects from him to find the missing Nigerian school girls.

In reference to Buhari, Wilson says, "Even though you are new and it is going to take time, we want to keep the pressure on so you will do all within your political power to find those young girls and bring them back."

Wilson was joined by the Mandela Washington Fellowship who are being hosted by Florida International University as part of President Barack Obama's Young African Leaders Initiative.
