Deputies: Couple falls asleep on Florida beach, leaving two kids alone at hotel pool

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – A couple from Georgia is facing charges, after deputies said they left their children alone and were passed out drunk on a Florida beach.

When Volusia Sheriff’s deputies found Alyssa Langley, 27, and Timothy Stephens, 27, on Saturday, the couple said they had no idea where the two young children had gone.

“I only had like two beers,” Stephens said in a body camera video.

Stephens ran from deputies while they were trying to place him under arrest for child neglect. Stephens is then seen on body camera video tripping and falling face first in the sand.

Stephens was taken to the hospital to be evaluated before being taken to jail.

Langley is also facing child neglect charges.

According to deputies, the children are in the care of their great-grandfather.
