Car crashes into Fort Lauderdale sushi restaurant

At least 3 people injured

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – At least three people were injured after a car crashed into the front of a Sushi Rock restaurant in Fort Lauderdale.

The incident happened early Thursday afternoon at 1300 E. Sunrise Blvd.

The driver of the Honda that went smashing through the front windows said some sort of mechanical problem caused him to crash into the restaurant.

"I'm disgusted with it," the driver told Local 10. "I've been praying about it. I hope God will heal them, and I'm so ashamed of this happening."

Witnesses said at least two people were on the floor injured, as everyone inside the restaurant tried to get out of the way. The driver was also limping.

"Everyone that wasn't hurt was pretty much moving stuff out of the way, trying to get people up," a witness told Local 10.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

"It's just an accident," the driver said.
