Deputies said Rice broke free while being handcuffed for shoplifting several hundred dollars worth of cosmetics early Sunday morning from CVS on Howland Boulevard. According to the release, Rice violently shoved the deputy to the ground and took off running.

Rice then broke into the couple's home, washed her clothes in the washing machine, took a shower, put on the husband's flannel pajamas and took a nap in the guest bedroom before being discovered by the wife, deputies said. The wife told deputies that her husband left to play golf that morning, so she called him and demanded an explanation for the woman in his pajamas, according to the release.

Deputies said that when the husband came home, he insisted that he wasn't having an affair with the intruder and the couple agreed to drive Rice less than a mile away to a home on Fountain Road. The couple then flagged down deputies at 11:30 a.m. to ask if they were searching for Rice.

Rice and an accomplice, John Willey, 25, were arrested after being stopped by deputies.
