FWC investigates shooting that sent 15-year-old to Orlando hospital

FELLSMERE, Fla. ā€“ A 15-year-old Florida boy was shot Tuesday afternoon while hunting with two other boys.

Investigators with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said the shooting happened just after 3 p.m. in Fellsmere.

A woman at the scene told ABC affiliate WPBF that the victim was her nephew, Gustavo Severino.

The woman told WPBF that Severino was hunting near his home with his cousin and another boy, both 15. She said Severino was shot in the leg and flown to an Orlando hospital for surgery.

Investigators interviewed the boys, who were eventually allowed to leave.

Specifics about what led to the shooting haven't been revealed.

The shooting remains under investigation.
