HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – 'Tis the season to break world records – well at least it is in Hollywood.
Participants at the 10th annual Christmas Near the Beach party will attempt to break the world record for most people caroling at once.

The current record is held a group of 1,822 in Wisconsin and organizers with Expressions of Joy want to have at least 2,000 people come to their caroling event.
"Go big or go home," Deena McDaniel, a productions producer and director with Expressions of Joy said.
She joked that they'll get the task accomplished with "a lot of prayer."
The group will sing classics "Away in a Manger," "Joy to the World" and "O Come All Ye Faithful."
"Traditionally carolers go house to house," McDaniel said. "We're going to downtown Hall and start at Mickey Brynes Irish Pub."
From there the carolers will go from store to store singing – ending at Starbucks.,
Since it is a record in the Guinness Book of World Records, they're trying to break some rules to apply, including everyone singing in unison, everyone must sing for the duration and a carol must be completed at each stop.
To organize the thousands of carolers, there will be a conductor on hand.
Aside from caroling, the event will also include vendors, a classic car show, and a visit from the Grinch.
Santa Claus is expected to show up in a class car – this is South Florida, after all.
"There are a lot of Florida haters," McDaniel said. "We're going to sing the coolest songs in the hottest place – Hollywood, Florida."
The festivities will be held from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Dec. 10 at Hollywood Artspark at Young Circle.
