Jeremy Jeremiah Miller, 19, confronted by witness

PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. ā€“ A man was arrested Monday after attempting to rob a 71-year-old woman at approximately 8:45 a.m. at the Maroone Nissan Dealership on South Douglas Road in Pembroke Pines.

According to police, 19-year-old Jeffrey Jeremiah Miller got out of his parked vehicle at the dealership, walked past the woman, then circled back around to her, pushed her to the ground and pulled her purse and bag from her arm.

Miller got into his vehicle and attempted to flee the dealership, but was stopped by a witness who pulled into the dealership, blocking the suspect.

The witness confronted Miller, who got out of his vehicle, ran back to the victim and returned her property to her, telling her that he was only trying to prove a point.

Miller then ran across the dealership after being left behind by the other suspects in the vehicle.

Miller was located and apprehended by Pembroke Pines police while trying to flee.

Miller was arrested after being positively identified by the witness and the victim.

Police say the suspects who fled in the getaway car dumped additional stolen property from similar robberies that occurred in Miami Dade County and North Miami Beach.

Miller is being charged with strong arm robbery, battery on a person 64 years of age or older.
