BIG PINE KEY, Fla. – A 62-year-old man is charged with sexual battery on a 23-year-old woman.
Lazaro Tapia, of Big Pine Key, is charged with sexual assault. Police arrested him March 8.

According to an arrest affidavit, Tapia offered to drive the woman, a family friend, to her friend's house on March 2.
When they couldn't find it, Tapia offered to take the woman to his apartment. He offered her a beer, which she drank, and another, which she sipped on before saying she was tired.
Tapia offered for her to sleep in his bed while he slept on a chair, police say.
The woman woke up to find Tapia lying on top of her. Her jeans were pulled down, her underwear removed, and he was trying to rape her, she told police.
The woman ran away and told the resident of a nearby house that she was raped.
