Migrants come ashore in Hollywood

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – A group of migrants arrived in Hollywood Beach on Monday afternoon.

Hollywood police took the seven men into custody. Beachgoers said the men arrived about 2:30 p.m. near A1A and Charleston Street, where a small, blue fishing boat named the Puerto Padre sat.

"The boat pulled up, I saw a plethora of guys get out -- young men -- and they just kissed the ground and they all ran and were hugging each other," said Pamela Smilack. "They made it here to this country and they looked so happy and grateful and it's just a beautiful thing."

Another woman said she spoke with the migrants, who told her they had been at sea for three days.
