Woman files lawsuit against mother of 'Cash Me Outside' girl

Lawsuit claims negligence in 'unprovoked' attack involving Danielle Bregoli

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. ā€“ A 27-year-old South Florida woman has filed a lawsuit against the mother of Danielle Bregoli, better known as the "Cash Me Outside" girl, after a fight outside a business in Lake Worth.

The attorney for Kimberly Peterson filed the lawsuit Tuesday. It alleges that Peterson was injured in the brawl involving Danielle Bregoli that was captured on video and obtained by TMZ.

According to the lawsuit, Bregoli instigated a verbal altercation on Feb. 26 that turned violent, with Bregoli repeatedly punching Peterson.

"This physical attack was unprovoked, unwarranted and excessive," the lawsuit said.

The lawsuit alleges that Bregoli, 13, caused Peterson "pain and suffering, disability, physical impairment, disfigurement, mental anguish, inconvenience, loss of capacity for the enjoyment of life, expense of hospitalization, medical and nursing care and treatment, loss of earnings, loss of ability to earn money and aggravation or activation of a previously existing condition."

The attorney for Kimberly Peterson has filed a lawsuit against the "Cash Me Outside" girl's mother, claiming that his client was injured in an unprovoked attack.

"This attack was unprovoked and unnecessary," Peterson said during a news conference Wednesday at her attorney's West Palm Beach office.

The lawsuit also alleges that Barbara Ann Bregoli was negligent in supervising her 13-year-old daughter and "should have known of Bregoli's volatile tendencies for disorder and physical violence."

"This is a case about responsibility and what happens when there is no responsibility," attorney Gary Lesser said.

Danielle Bregoli became a social media star after her 2016 appearance on the "Dr. Phil" show in which she said, "Cash me outside, howbow dah?"

Lesser said most of the injuries to his client were caused by others seen in the video, but he said Bregoli led the attack after Bregoli and her friends were told to "go home" to their parents.

"Cash Me Outside" girl Danielle Bregoli is seen on a TMZ video instigating a fight Feb. 26 in Lake Worth.

"We are a nation based on the rule of law, and you can't knowingly let your 13-year-old daughter become a menace to society, injuring people along the way that happen to provoke her anger," Lesser said.

No criminal charges have been filed, but the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office is investigating.

The lawsuit seeks $15,000 in damages.
