Focus of Gov. Rick Scott's inauguration speech expected to be jobs

Scott's message to residents of other states: Move to Florida

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Flanked by his family, and among 400 invited friends, donors and politicians, Florida Gov. Rick Scott worked the crowd at the governor's mansion on the eve of his second inauguration.

"It's humbling that the citizens of Florida have put their faith and trust in the governor and myself for four more years. And we'll keep doing what we said we were going to do," Lt. Gov. Carlos Lopez-Cantera, who is from Miami, told Local 10 News.

A focus of Scott's inaugural speech will be jobs. ?In excerpts of the speech released Monday, Scott is expected to urge residents of other states to take their business to the Sunshine State.

?"I have a message today to the people of New York, Illinois, California, Pennsylvania and others: MOVE TO FLORIDA! We want you to keep more of the money you make because we understand it's your money. We want your businesses to grow and succeed. We want to compete globally and win," one excerpt reads.

Scott did not win a majority in November over rival Charlie Crist, claiming only 48 percent of the vote.

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Texas Gov. Rick Perry are expected to attend the swearing-in Tuesday.
