Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush registered to vote as Hispanic

Bush claims it's unclear where paperwork error was made

MIAMI – Jeb Bush Jr. sent a tweet to his dad, the former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, with a "Laugh Out Loud" Monday morning.

He linked it to the "Jeb Bush's Ties to Hispanics Show Even in Voter Form" New York Times report claiming that his dad identified himself as Hispanic on a voter registration form in 2009.

"Come on dad, think you checked the wrong box," Bush Jr. said on Twitter. He added the hash tag "Honorary Latino."

His dad's immediate response: "My mistake! I don't think I've fooled anyone."

If he runs for the White House, the Texan is likely to remind voters that his wife, Columba Bush, was born in Mexico, and that he lived in Venezuela, The Hill's David McCabe said on his blog.
