Excerpts from Scott's speech show he is focusing on the economy and education, specifically on removing sales tax for manufacturing equipment and raises for teachers.

His speech is at 11 a.m. as the legislature reconvenes for a 60-day session.

Lawmakers have a packed agenda.

Some of the more interesting bills to be discussed include:

  • Search and seizure of portable or electronic devices. This bill would make it illegal for police to track you with your phone's GPS system without having a warrant.
  • Prohibiting protests within a set distance from funerals or churches.
  • Advertising on school buses as a way to bring in extra revenue.

Also, a bill that would allow larger containers to be sold is being presented by Rep. Dana Young.
