Hundreds line up for rapper J. Cole's concert at Grand Central

Rapper announced his 'Dollar & A Dream Tour - The Warm Up' tickets were $1

MIAMI – A large crowd flooded to Grand Central, a night club in downtown Miami, to see rapper J. Cole perform Friday.

About 1:15 p.m., the rapper announced on Twitter that tickets for his Friday night show were $1 at the door of the club, 697 N. Miami Ave. By 2:30 p.m. there were about 250 fans lined up on North Miami Ave. 

Freddie Perez, 24, of Hialeah, rushed to Grand Central as fast as he could. He said about 3 p.m. that the scene was calm.

"Grand Central bought pizza for people making line," Perez said.

The 29-year-old  rapper's tour is called "The Warm Up."  Cole, also known as Jermaine Lammarr, was born at U.S. Army base in Germany and grew up in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

In 2007, Jay-Z signed him to his record label Roc Nation. His award nominations since include a Grammy, MTV Music Awards, and Billboard. .
