MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A 17-year-old boy who was reported missing last month was found dead in a wooded area near his home in southwest Miami-Dade County.
Jose Santos Amaya Guardado was reported missing by his family June 28.

Miami-Dade police said Guardado's family searched for him in nearby areas. Last Wednesday, his brother discovered what appeared to be a partially buried body in a wooded area and called 911.
Police confirmed that a human body was found. The body was taken to the medical examiner's office for further investigation.
The medical examiner determined the body, which had obvious signs of trauma, was that of Guardado and ruled the cause of death a homicide.
