Judge denies defense's request for acquittal

SANFORD, Fla. – The judge hearing the George Zimmerman trial denied the defense's request for an acquittal Friday.

Prosecutors then rested their case against Zimmerman, the neighborhood watch volunteer charged with fatally shooting Trayvon Martin.

The first defense witness, Zimmerman's mother Gladys, was then called to testify.
