Lauderhill jewelry heist captured on surveillance video

Robbery reported Saturday at Immanuel Jewelry Store

LAUDERHILL, Fla. ā€“ Police are searching for a group of men who were captured on surveillance video robbing a jewelry store in Lauderhill.

The robbery happened about 4 p.m. Saturday at Immanuel Jewelry Store, 1315 N. State Road 7.

Police said a man used a hammer to smash the jewelery display boxes at the front of the door. Surveillance video shows several other men rush in and grab jewelry from the display box.

Police said one of the robbers used a plastic bin, similar to a common recycling container, to collect the jewelry.

All of the men wore masks and gloves. An employee was seen whacking the men away with what appeared to be a pole.

No injuries were reported.

Police said the thieves made off with thousands of dollars worth of merchandise. They are searching for six to seven people involved in the heist.
