Lauderhill PD: 200 teenagers show up at mall for fight

LAUDERHILL, Fla. – Lauderhill Mall has been reopened after a brawl involving about 200 teenagers caused them to shut their doors.

Police closed the mall Tuesday afternoon after that brawl.

A message went out over social media about a fight at the mall, located at 1375 N. State Road 7, according to police.

The teenagers then gathered in the parking lot. When police officers tried dispersing them, the crowd went into the mall, where the fight broke out.

A 16-year-old boy was transported with non-life threatening injuries, according to Lauderhill Fire Rescue.

Police will remain at the mall for the remainder of the night.
