Fire erupts inside Wilton Manors home

WILTON MANORS, Fla. – Fire rescue crews rushed to extinguish a blaze at a Wilton Manors home on Saturday morning.

It happened near Northeast 21st Street and Northeast Third Avenue.

Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue confirmed the fire has been extinguished and an investigation is underway to figure out what exactly caused it.

Local 10 News obtained cellphone video from a viewer showing thick smoke from the fire billowing into the air as it exited the home.

Authorities told Local 10 News that one unit of a multi-family property was affected.

A Local 10 News crew was outside the home where investigators were focusing on a door that was damaged from the heavy blaze and was seen speaking to people standing outside the affected home.

Authorities have not confirmed if anyone was injured or transported to the hospital due to the fire.

No other information has been given at this time.
