Video shows fire erupting inside home in Hollywood

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – Authorities responded to a house fire in Hollywood Tuesday morning.

Hollywood Fire Rescue confirmed the fire erupted at a home in the area of Raleigh Street between 23rd and 24th Avenue.

Sky 10 flew over the scene around 11:45 a.m. where smoke billowed from the home as first responders worked to put out the blaze.

Neighbor Lissette Reeve was stuck right next door as those flames raged on.

Reeve told Local 10 News that she stayed inside the home for her 13-year-old son Joshua De Jesus, who has cerebral palsy and recently had spinal fusion surgery.

As Joshua stayed in his bed, Reeve stood guard along with his round-the-clock nurse until fire rescue arrived.

“I was thinking about his safety above all and his nurse and the animals,” Reeve said.

Fire rescue crews who fought the fire away from Reeve’s house held the line to keep her son safe inside.

“I’m so thankful for the city of Hollywood Fire Department. Everything they did was above and beyond,” said Reeve.

It is unclear if anyone was inside the home when the fire started.

No injuries have been reported at this time.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
