Family escapes after fire erupts inside home in southwest Miami-Dade

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A fire erupted early Wednesday morning inside a home in southwest Miami-Dade.

According to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officials, the fire was reported at 3:35 a.m. in the 11100 block of Southwest 143rd Court.

First responders confirmed that over 15 MDFR units responded to the scene to find flames coming from the roof and heavy smoke fully engulfing the home.

Officials said everyone inside the home was able to escape before firefighters arrived.

According to MDFR, firefighters used “multiple hose lines and a ladder truck to attack the fire from multiple angles,” as well as a hydraulic tool to enter the garage to fight the flames from there as well.

The Red Cross was called out to assist the family.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
