Man dies after being shot inside Miami-Dade business

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A man has died after being shot Wednesday night in northwest Miami-Dade, police confirmed Thursday morning.

According to Miami-Dade police Detective Angel Rodriguez, the shooting was reported shortly after 7:30 p.m. Wednesday inside a business at 3570 NW 50th St.

A search of the address shows that it belongs to a boat rental business.

“That was my brother – my brother from another mother, definitely,” a friend of the victim’s, who did not want to be identified, said.

The friend told Local 10′s Alex Finnie that the victim, German Amado De La Cruz Jr., was shot randomly by someone who had walked into the shop.

“What I know is that he had a couple of customers out there, and there was another gentleman that had nothing to do with those customers,” the friend said. “Obviously as I hear, he came to pick up a piece or a part for one of the (jet) skis, and this other gentleman walks behind him and as he turns around, he gets shot, point blank in the head.”

Rodriguez said Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel transported the victim to an area hospital in critical condition.

He confirmed Thursday morning that the victim has since died.

No other details were immediately released.

Anyone with further information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477. A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.
